Latest Article: Toyota Continues Success In The U.S. Market

Toyota is experiencing and enjoying much success on U.S. soil. The Japanese car maker posted record breaking sales figures in January of this year. And February is just as the same with the Toyota Prius setting an all-time sales record. The increase again in the sales of Toyota vehicles is consistent throughout its lineup. From small cars to full size pick up trucks, Toyota managed to sell more of them in February this year compared to February 2006.

Once again, passenger cars have become the main reason for the success of Toyota in the market. Total sales of these cars add up to 106,429 units which is a 21.1 percent improvement over the February 2006 sales figures for passenger cars. The Toyota Camry is the best selling model in the lineup of the Toyota division. The Asian car manufacturer and the second largest car manufacturer in the world sold 32,148 units of the popular Camry. That is a 17.5 percent improvement over last year for the same period. The Camry hybrid also posted very good numbers with 3,332 units sold.

The Toyota Prius, the hybrid electric sedan, posted all-time bets-ever sales figure. Toyota sold 12,227 units of the Prius for the month of February 2007. This is an 87 percent increase over last year’s sales output. This shows that more and more American motorists are taking advantage of the technology while helping the environment at the same time. It seems that even a Volvo brake booster is not enough to put a stop to the momentum being shown by Toyota.

Other Toyota models which showed good performance in the market are the Yaris and the Corolla. The subcompact car that is the Toyota Yaris posted a sales figure of 5,702 units sold. The Toyota Corolla meanwhile posted a 12.9 percent increase over last year’s performance. Toyota sold 28,321 of the classic Corolla for the month of February this year.

Light trucks sales are also showing good figures. Toyota sold 80,901 units of light trucks and this is the best ever February performance for the Japanese brand. The best selling light truck in the lineup of the Toyota division is the RAV4 compact SUV. Toyota sold 11,643 units of the sports utility vehicle, which is a 5.2 percent improvement over last year’s sales figure for the same period. Latest Article: February 2007 Sales For Mazda Down By One Percent From Last Year

Car makers are now starting to post their sales figures for the moth of February. In connection with this, the Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recently released their sales figures for the month of February this year. Their total sales figure for the month of February for trucks and cars is 22,067 units. This is some Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.6.4 percent lower than last year’s sales figure which amounts to 23,580 vehicles. The car maker has sold 41,332 units for this year until February. This is a marginal decrease from last year’s 41,757 units.

The decrease in the sales figures by the Asian car manufacturer is due to poor sales of cars and trucks. As a matter of fact, the only model which sold higher this year over February of last year is the Mazda3 vehicle. For February of this year, the car manufacturer sold 8,667 units of the Mazda3. This is a 15 percent increase over last year’s sales figure for the said model. Even the fancy Mazda MX-5 Miata did not live up to its billing for February. Mazda managed to sell 1,107 units of the Miata, which is down by 14.5 percent from February 2006 sales figure for the model.

The Mazda5 and the Mazda6 also showed a decrease in terms of sale compared to February of last year. The Mazda5 showed a slip of 26.7 percent while the Mazda6 slipped by 18.5 percent.

The biggest slip in the 11 vehicle lineup of Mazda is the MPV. For February, Mazda only sold one unit of the MPV - this is a far cry from last year’s 1,546 units sold. That showed a decrease of 99.9 percent. A very poor performance indeed and such a feat cannot be even compared to the high performance level of Volvo belts.

Another model that did poorly in terms of sale is the Mazda Tribute. Last year, Mazda sold 3,122 units of the model in February. This year though, Mazda only managed to sell 402 units of the vehicle. Following the Mazda MPV, the Tribute is the second worst performer in the lineup with a decrease of 87.1 percent.

Aside from the Mazda5, good news also comes from the sales figure of the new vehicles introduced just recently by Mazda in the market. The CX-7 showed strong sales figures; Mazda sold 2,952 of this model for the month of February. Another new release which showed strong acceptance from car buyers is the CX-9. Mazda sold 1,168 units of this model. The year-to-date figure for the CX-7 has reached 5,719 for the first two months of the year. Meanwhile, the year-to-date figure for the CX-9 has now reach 1,250 units. With the help of these two models, Mazda may be on its way to increasing their sales figure for the succeeding month when compared to last year’s performance in the market.

Latest Article: Time Line Of Beauty Culture

The culture of being beautiful is an old mannerism with humans, though it has got more to do with the fairer sex. Every age, region, culture and tradition has its own essence of beauty. Right from the earliest period of history, different standards and parameters of beauty have been closely guarded and zealously maintained by different generations. But one thing is for sure; the image of an ideal beauty is something that is hard to come by.

The western society seems to be deeply engrossed with the thoughts of a perfect body size and ideal weight. Everyone in the society, men, women and even the adolescents are influenced by the pressures around them to adhere and conform to some ideal parameter of body structure and figure. And it was a serious issue among the women. The ideal figure tends to be one that is most difficult to attain in that particular period of time. On occasions when there are a lot of people maintaining the ideal shape, the yardsticks for the ideal figure would change in such a way that it is something extraordinarily harder to attain.

The ideal shape a woman changes with the tide of time. Different eras of history have seen various ideal shapes of women. Body consciousness, with an essence for fashion and style became noticeable among the masses since the Victorian Age. Victorian women loved a fleshy, plump and full-bodied structure. In order to accentuate their hips, they had a practice of wearing tight corsets on their waist. A tight and slim waist gave them a ‘full-buxom, wide buttock’ look. In spite of health complications with the use of the corset, women indulge in the practice just to be trendy. It set a precedent to the present culture of women giving up everything (health and otherwise) just to make a style statement.

With the onset of the twentieth century, slender became the in-thing. Having an athletic figure with an ideal height of around 5’4” and a weight of twenty stones was the epitome of women’s fashion statement in those days. However, from being athletic, the fashion went to another extreme of cultivating a washboard profile or a flapper-thinness in the 1920s. The hourglass figure of the Victorian Age had a complete reversal here. Women looked as if they had no breast. But in the late 1950s, Marilyn Monroe set the record straight with a heavy bust line. Pamela Anderson further glorified it in the 1990s with the silicon-embedded cleavage in the Baywatch serial.

In the recent past, being slim and slender has held sway in the fashion and modeling circles. With the entry of Twiggy in the modeling scene in the 1960s, it’s hot and happening to have a pencil thin figure or a prepubescent boy look. And thinner goes the fashion trend, as the weight of an ideal beauty queen that was just 8% less than an average woman in 1975 is 23 % less now. But these days, the ideal slim body needs to be well toned with a sporty fitness.

With the invasion of the mass media in the private lives of the people, maintaining an ideal shape has become second nature to the womenfolk. Sometimes, you see the ideal figures through TV, magazines and billboards more frequently than you see your friends or family members that the ideals begin to look normal and their figure easily attainable. But the stark reality is that people undergo silicon implants and liposuction to fine-tune and shape up their hips and buttocks.

The future looks bleak if the present trend continues. What would come of us if the quest for animated anorexics and gravity –defying breasts continue? Phentermine is the answer to all our prayers. It is the medical world’s best bet to keep you in shape, though it doesn’t mean that everyone taking Phentermine could sashay down the ramp.
