Latest Article: Choosing the Best Video Games for Yourself
Whether you are a kid, teenager or adult, there is no way that you won't like playing video games. In the past few years, video games have become a popular source of entertainment and stress reliever for everyone.

It is fun to play Wii games . The implementation of the latest technology has led to the creation of multitudes of user-friendly and more natural video games. The vast variety of video games has made it impossible for you to own all of these games. Therefore, playing online games is a cheaper option for entertainment.

There are many online game sites that allow players to play 80s classic games online. It is entertaining to play games on these sites as the designs are continuously modified. Most of the online video games are available in the pop up form. Some of the games are so simple that you can even play them while working in the office.

If you are a video game lover, you will definitely want to play the newest game. However, plenty of games are out every month leaving you confused about which one to buy. Some of these games are meant for players of a specific age group. So, how to choose the right game for yourself?

Reading New Video Game Reviews

You can find plenty of video game reviews online and in magazines also. Some information about video games is also provided before the game is out in the market. However, the Internet is the best source because you get first hand information and that too before the actual product is released. Some people also write reviews for the games that have already been played and this is a really good way of deciding if you want to buy a particular game or not.

There is one more way of testing the game and that is to rent it. Some online or local game stores offer video games on rent. You can play these games first and decide if you want to make the purchase or not.
Types of New Video Games

The gaming industry is expanding its reach by introducing a wide variety of games for players. There are specialized teams for making video games based on age or genre of the game. You can also buy a video game that is made for players of your age group.

Coming back to online video games, most of them are designed to get prospective clients. You will be allowed to complete initial levels of the game but will be asked to pay fees for downloading the next levels of the game.

Latest Article: Advantages of Static In-Game Advertising
Video games are clearly the entertainment medium that has experienced the fastest growth over recent years. It is estimated that hundreds of millions of people from all over the world prefer video games over traditional media as the entertainment media of choice. Marketers seeking to reach the 18-34 demographic found that videogames are one of the most powerful and efficient advertising platforms. Taking advantage of this huge opportunity has led to what we now call in-game advertising.

In game advertising refers to the delivery of advertising through video games. Both the game industry and the advertising industry can benefit tremendously from in-game advertising. Those in the game industry cannot overlook the new stream of revenue that in-game advertising offers. In-game advertising provides a very effective way to reach the 18-34 demographic. Statistics show that most men in that age group tend to favor video games over television.

There are two types of in-game advertising: static and dynamic. Dynamic in-game advertising means that the advertisements can be integrated in the video game even after the video game has been published. Although this particular type of in-game advertising has some advantages, it does have its shortcomings and limitations. Probably the most notable one shortcoming is that the dynamic in-game advertising requires a live internet connection. This rules out the possibility of reaching those gamers that do not have their game console connected to the internet. Static in game advertising, however, does not depend on internet connectivity or high bandwidth to work, because in static in-game advertisement the ads are hard-coded into the video game before it is published.

Static in-game advertisements are permanent integrated into the game. Static in-game advertising comes with the advantage of allowing both developers and advertisers to create ads that are more tied to the game storyline. Static in-game advertising allows more meaningful and elaborate brand integrations, while being more relevant to both the game story and the player.

All in all, since both advertisers and the game industry have something to gain from in game advertising. However, it is critically important that the ad integration is done appropriately as not to degrade the quality of the game. The game industry perceives in-game advertising as a promising stream of revenue and advertisers see it as a promising way to engage the hard-to-reach 18-34 demographic.

Latest Article: Become a Paid Game Tester- Discover How Much You'll Make and What You'll Do...
Professional video game testing is without a doubt way better than most other jobs out there. But then again, playing video games for cash, like any other type of employment, does have a few downsides. Admittedly, the downsides of being a game tester are not too terrible to put up with, but they do actually exist and every video game tester out there must accept and deal with them.

The Job Description of A Professional Tester

Contrary to what you may think, game testers do not just sit on their butts all day long and play extraordinary video games. In truth, playing video games and testing video games are two COMPLETELY different things. Although you'll still likely have fun testing the newest and coolest video games, it won't be quite as much fun as you originally thought. Why is this? Because game testers have to do actual work.

Instead of just being paid to judge the overall amount of enjoyment of a new video game, testers are paid to locate what most programmers and coders can't, which is bugs and glitches. Game programmers can easily identify the larger bugs & glitches; but when it comes time to locate the tiny and less obvious ones, developers solely rely on expert game testers to do the job quickly and effectively. That being said, as a video game tester it is YOUR JOB to test the game as long as it takes in order to find and properly document every one of the game's bugs and glitches!

Earnings Of A Video Game Tester

Unfortunately, there is no set-in-stone starting salary for a new game tester. Different companies pay different wages, so it's a bit hard to give an exact figure on how much a video game beta tester can or will be paid. Having said that, don't wholeheartedly believe advertisements that say game testers get paid up to $120 per hour. Although it's not a full blown lie, it's not really truth either -- Game tester salaries can be quite high, just not that high.

At a rate of $120 per hour, a beta tester would earn $600 per day just working a minuscule 5 hours. To be honest, you'd have a real tough time finding professional game testers that get paid even half that sum for a days worth of work.

Average Tester Earnings: Yearly salary of a paid beta tester can range from a relatively low $18000 to a staggering $80,000 or more. Monthly salary can range from $1300 to a high $10000. Weekly salary can be anywhere from $300 to a sizeable $2000.

The amount of cash you can make as a professional beta game tester is directly associated with the game developer you are working for, not to mention the overall amount of work you can "successfully" take on.
